Run the following commands in your Linux terminal to install and use Docker commands without sudo.
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install apt-transport-https ca-certificates curl software-properties-common
$ curl -fsSL https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu/gpg | sudo apt-key add -
$ sudo add-apt-repository "deb [arch=amd64] https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu bionic stable"
$ sudo apt-get update
$ apt-cache policy docker-ce
$ sudo apt-get install docker-ce
Type and Enter “Y” when prompted
$ sudo systemctl status docker
“Ctrl + C” to quit
$ sudo usermod -aG docker {username}
$ su - {username}

Download Docker Desktop for Windows

Open Docker Desktop -> Settings -> Resources -> WSL Integration
- Check WSL version with:
wsl.exe -l -v
You will want to have WSL 2 downloaded.
